The Last Christmas Dinner

Well, we're officially moving onto New Year's festivities. Today marked the end of the Christmas meals. We had our in-laws over for the whole food and presents deal. My in-laws arrived an hour and a half early. Since I left everything to the last minute I was scrapbooking my mother-in-laws present with her standing right there. Oh well. We were thrown off a bit with the early arrival, but we made the best of things. What can you do, right? We had it nice and early though and were done by midafternoon. It was really Christmas lunch, not dinner, but whatever.

The rest of my day was spent feeding A(that does seem to take up most of all of my days) and sewing cloth diaper wipes. I found the cutest flannel awhile back. It's a print with skulls and the word SKATE written on it as well as some other things. Very cute. I'm making them double-sided - flannel print on one side and cotton terry on the other. I've just now learned how to sew, so they're very rough. They're nowhere nearly as finished looking as the cloth wipes that a lot of WAHMs (Work at Home Moms) make and sell. But who knows? Maybe someday I'll get good enough to make a little bit of money on the side. I was in a bit of a hurry to finish them up today seeing as we just ran out of wipes and I really don't want to buy more disposable wipes when I have perfectly good wipes ready to be made. So I got through quite a few of them today. I have some to finish. I'll post a nice pic when they're all done.

I'll leave you with a funny pic of A. There's a funny story behind this. I was packing up the food to head out to my grandparents' house for our Christmas Eve festivities. I was in a hurry and didn't realize that the seal on the bag of powdered sugar wasn't quite sealed. Oops. And the result of this below.

Here we are

Well, I've finally done it. After considering this for several months I've started a blog. I'd love to say that I'll write in my blog every day, but that would be really optimistic. So I'm going to shoot for three days a week. My goal is just to have a corner in cyber world where I can keep friends and family up to date with what's new in our lives, share some fun pics, and voice my thoughts on life.

Here's some pics from our Christmas festivities:

I decided to become crafty all of a sudden this Christmas. For my nieces I made ponchos and hats. I found a pattern that looked simple enough and just gave it a whirl. I've never sewn anything in my life except for a pillow in home economics in junior high! Here's pics of how they turned out.

Thanks to all who contributed to the poncho/hat project in some way or another. There's several of you consultants out there!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
